Greetings From Our Tree Director

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Hello 2023.

When reflecting I have found this to be most fitting for us at TREE, it is much more than just a job, our purpose is higher and beyond us., it’s about doing something that makes a difference in the lives of our beneficiaries.

2023 is the year for us to seek experiences that will help us to ethically pursue our goals.

We need the willpower to change and the persistence to do so.

Everything begins with determination and the action to follow through with intention of making our vision a reality.

Let us make 2023 A Year of Love and Peace.
Love Mam Ruby

The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.

Successful Partnering

On a recent visit to Musina, Limpopo, we saw the community of Thsikudeni meeting with our Director, Ruby Motaung who delivered exciting news regarding the expansion of the Thshikudeni ECD centre.

An additional 3 classrooms will be built to support the influx of children who are unable to attend school, due to lack of documents and other socio economic issues.

This initiative and intervention is proudly supported by DBSA and Kinderfonds MAMAS.

ECD Centres Ready Set Go!

Entering the 2023 school year with one vision in mind, to provide a quality, holistic early learning environment for all children.

TREE together with our partner SmartStart visited various ECD centres to assess the classroom and teacher readiness before re-opening.

Aiming to ensure all children within SA, regardless of background and circumstance, have access to some form of early education.

Strategic Planning

At the beginning of each year TREE staff members meet to openly discuss and plan the desired objectives and goals of the organisation.

The outcome being clear and defined goals for each staff member and their role in achieving the organisations blueprint for success.

By 2026 TREE aims:

  1. To be the most influential non-profit ECD organisation, nationally.
  2. To achieve financial sustainability by contributing to TREE’s operational budget by increasing self generating income.
  3. To build TREE into modern capable organisation with the requisite agility.
